"No one had ever shown me how to actually plan my week. Once I learned that, everything changed."

The problem we solve

Capable students underperform for a specific reason.

01

They were never taught how to learn

The school system teaches what to learn — not how. Skills like planning, chunking, and self-monitoring are rarely explicitly taught, so capable students hit a ceiling.

02

Avoidance is mistaken for laziness

When tasks feel overwhelming, students shut down. This is a brain response to cognitive overload — not a character flaw. The right coaching reframes and reduces it.

03

Grades are a lagging indicator

By the time grades drop, the habits — or absence of them — are already entrenched. We address the underlying patterns, not just the symptoms.

Who this is for

Built for students who are closer than they think.

Capable but inconsistent — bright, but not performing at their potential

Struggles with organisation, follow-through, or knowing where to start

Avoids difficult work or shuts down under pressure

Heading into Grade 11 or 12 and needs to get serious about what comes next

Would respond well to structure, clear expectations, and being taken seriously

Entering Grade 9 or 10 and needs a strong foundation before the year begins

If your concern isn't just this semester's marks, but whether your child is genuinely prepared for what's ahead —

Connect directly with an educator to discuss your student's unique learning journey, address your top questions, and explore how we can support their academic goals. This brief, collaborative conversation is designed to give your family clear direction and total peace of mind—with zero pressure.

About Ascended Minds Edu

Founded by an educator who saw the gap clearly.

Ascended Minds Edu was founded by an Ontario Certified Teacher who has spent years watching capable students underperform — not because they lack ability, but because no one has worked with them on how to learn.

The gap between potential and performance is rarely about intelligence. It's about habits, structure, and knowing that support is available. That's what this program addresses.

We also maintain a referral network of trusted mental health and learning support professionals. When a student needs more than academic coaching, we connect families to the right people.

Frequently Asked Questions

They are designed for two different paces of growth, and a student does not have to complete the summer program to join us for the school year.

  • The Launch-Ready Summer Program is a condensed, proactive 2-week bridge designed to build immediate momentum. It focuses on equipping students with a foundational toolkit and a personalized workbook. The natural next step is for students to use this workbook as a strategic reference guide to maintain their learning and independent habits when September hits.
  • School Year Coaching is spaced out into structured 8-week cycles. It is designed to run alongside their academic calendar, helping students manage the ongoing, real-time demands, workload, and stress of the school year.

We don't do passive, "cameras-off" lectures. Our 1:1 virtual sessions are structured, lively, and highly collaborative.

Instead of just feeding students answers, we use activity-based discussions and structured lessons that require students to explore their own thinking and voice their ideas. We build a genuine connection from day one by treating them as partners in their learning, not just names on a screen. By keeping the sessions conversational and interactive, we help students stay focused, build confidence, and take true ownership of their academic habits.

Because the summer program is highly condensed, session times are strictly fixed and cannot be rescheduled.

The core purpose of this program is to provide the daily consistency students need to build healthy, sustainable routines. Missing sessions directly disrupts that momentum. To protect the integrity of the program and the progress of the cohort, missing three classes will result in withdrawal from the 2-week program. We ask families to ensure their student's slot is treated as a firm commitment so they can experience the full transformational benefit of the daily routine.

Absolutely. In fact, this is exactly where our coaching shines. Grades only tell part of the story; motivation and anxiety are deeply tied to how a student's brain responds to academic stress.

We utilize neuroscience-backed techniques and strategies to help learners identify their stress triggers, reframe their mindset, and develop entirely new, healthier cognitive responses to their schoolwork. Because every teenager is different, our approach is highly personalized to meet your child exactly where they are. Over time, as anxiety decreases and confidence grows, you can expect to see noticeable improvements in their resilience, emotional regulation, and higher-order thinking skills.

We are entirely different from traditional tutoring. A traditional tutor focuses almost exclusively on helping a student get through a specific set of homework questions or preparing for an upcoming test.

At AME, our goal is to tackle the root mindset and attitude toward learning itself. Instead of just handing students the answers, we guide them to actively share and analyze their own thinking processes. We focus on equipping students with the lifelong frameworks they need for independent thinking, sustainable academic habits, and daily routines. We don't just help them pass the next quiz—we give them the tools to navigate any academic challenge independently.

  • For Grade 9 Students: Entering high school is a massive developmental transition that can leave students feeling deeply intimidated and overwhelmed. We serve as a vital support system to help them build social-academic confidence. We coach them on how to comfortably voice their questions, advocate for their own learning needs, and safely challenge themselves academically.
  • For Grade 11 & 12 Students: As post-secondary pathways approach, the pressure shifts. Our coaching transitions into high-level executive functioning. We work closely with upper-year students on managing their time, balancing competing commitments, and navigating intense academic expectations, all while keeping their long-term vision and future goals clearly in sight.
